Sunday Afternoon

We have been having some unusually warm weather here in northern Alabama. Over the weekend it got up into the low 60s and I was working around the house most of the day Saturday in a T-shirt. Since I got my work done on Saturday it left Sunday afternoon open for recreaction. I have been testing another variation of a field target design so I took the opportunity of the warm weather to pull out all nearly all of my airguns and have a shoot of it.

I started with my .177 ProSport. I have a Hawke 4-12x scope on it and boy is it consistant. It shoots around 950 fps and it is spot on even after sitting dormant for several months. I have a ProSport in .22 as well and both are very very stable. I don't think I have ever seen either of them shift zero. I think the ProSport is the Cadilac of spring guns, they are really well balanced for heavy gun. If I had to own only one airgun, it would be the ProSport.

After taht I got out my R7, FWB124, my HW97s and several others and just spent some time with some old friends putting pellets down range. It was just what I needed on a warm Sunday afternoon after a hard work week.

Brad, you gonna fill us in on the new Field Target design when you finish it? Curious to see how it's working out for ya.

Always enjoy your blogs..Thanks.

Good to hear the explorations of a similar spirit. Seem to have these airguns filling my idle time... Dreaming of ways to make the trigger pull produce less shift in my shots. How to modify the stock to provide a verticle thumbrest, while enhancing hte palm swell.... Hours of fun!

Hope you are feeling better soon!
